Category 1 or 2 Hitch + John Deere Review

"The Category 0 Heavy Hitch is a great tool... I use it with six 42lb weights for counter ballast when plowing or snowblowing. In the summer it stays attached more often than not for the ease of use pulling carts or moving my trailers around. Heck, this spring I pulled out 15 bushes and shrubs with the hook and chain! Love my Heavy Hitch!"

How they work together

The heavy-duty tooth bar is designed to increase the bucket capacity and digging performance of your tractor. With a 5/16″ Allen wrench, it’s easily installed to your front end loader with 5/8″ set screws in each tooth shank. The teeth are replaceable, and the tooth bar works with standard material buckets with a cutter bar up to 1/2″.

{{mpg_tractormake}} tractors are built for comfort and durability. When you add our tooth bar to the bucket on your {{mpg_tractormake}} {{mpg_tractormodel}}, you’ve upgraded to a machine that can do anything.

How to measure for a Category 1 or 2 Hitch

  1. Measure the inside width of your bucket. This will determine what width you will need.
  2. Measure the height of your cutting edge. This Standard Tooth Bar will fit on a cutting edge of up to 1/2″. If your cutting edge is 5/8″-3/4″, you will need our Heavy Duty Tooth Bar.

How durable is a Category 1 or 2 Hitch and will it bend my bucket?

Tooth bars are manufactured by a variety of companies at different thicknesses, using different grades of steel. Some customers have been concerned about the wear and tear of bucket teeth metal on concrete surfaces, or their buckets unable to support larger loads, potentially bending their buckets.

This is one reason Heavy Hitch has become a stand-out alternative, as seen in an online tour of their factory in Winona, Minnesota (see video).

“We have nothing to hide,” said Schell. Our steel is made in America and built to last. In fact, we distinguish ourselves from our competitors. Our steel tool bar blades last 3 or 4 times longer than most standard tool bars.”
