What is UHMW?
UHMW is ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) polyethylene bar that has exceptionally high abrasion and impact resistance properties. It will outwear all other materials, including metals, nylons, urethanes, and fluoroplastics. In corrosion resistance, it has the same qualities as other polyethylene plastics. UHMW resists wear, friction, and corrosion, cutting maintenance costs, energy consumption, and extends equipment life. Applications for UHMW materials include guide rails, wear plates, rollers, conveyor augers, bin and hopper lines, chutes, bearings, bushings, and gears.

Best wear bar on the market; its thick, reversible, and tall so you get alot of use out of it. This blade is absolutely necessary when plowing concrete, pavers, and gravel driveways. When I started explaining to people my setup and how it limits damage to property, I received a lot more business. This blade has lasted a full commercial season without chipping, cracking, or flipping. Best of all, its quiet and glides much better than steel edges.

I bought this blade last year for my John deere 430 garden tractor. The blade is awesome for blacktop, concrete or flat frozen ground. These blades fit perfect, they’re much quieter and wear much less than the regular steel blades. One thing to be aware of is on gravel that has some larger stones, could chip the edge of the blade. We had some warm weather and the frozen base melted a little exposing stones. Then everything froze again leaving the stone protruding above the surface. I wasn’t paying attention and when I hit these larger stones they chipped the edge of the blade. This product is an excellent product, just be careful if you’re plowing gravel driveways. I just ordered the AR/400 carbon blade from heavy hitch. This blade will fit my needs better. Heavy hitch products are very well built.

I have the John Deere 366 plow attached to my 2032R tractor. Had been searching the internet looking for a UHMW cutting edge, but had no luck! As I had purchased from Heavy Hitch in the past, I reached out to Terry and Shannon for a custom cut unit at 66″. Had one out to me in no-time (even during the Holidays!). Fit like a champ the first time around! If you have a 66″ JD plow, just ask them for it if it!

My first wear bar fit my 54″ blade. Used it four seasons on original edge. These wear bars last 4xs as long as oem bars on my concrete driveway.
I added the 9″ JD extensions this year and inquired about this wear bar in a 72″. It seems like it was cut and added to the site just for me!
I am in MN ordered friday morning, shipped friday afternoon and delivered saturday. Who does that? These guys are awesome! Installed Saturday night and fits perfectly!
Thanks so Much!

Fits and works good with my rubber blade extensions. Haven’t been able to use it much this year so far. No visible marks on my black top driveway and work on gravel.

Nice thick piece, but holes are slotted and start to turn when you go to tighten supplied bolts. I don’t think they will stay in place, as I could not get them very tight, only time will tell.

Sorry to hear about the issue with the wear bar. Try flipping the wear bar over and try the holes on the other side. There can be a slight taper in the holes and flipping it over can help with holding the screws tighter. If you are still unable to get the screws to tighten, just let us know and we will get a replacement out to you.
